Horticulture

We grow a variety of vegetables at the institute e.g. beetroot, eggplants, cabbages, carrots, dodo, spinach, lettuce, onions, cucumber, green paper, nakati and french beans.

Students have personal plots on which they grow and look after their vegetables.

The institute has 4 acres of Sukuma wiki , 1/2 acre of cabbage and 1/2 acre of tomato

The produce is consumed by students and staff. It is also used to feed the animals e.g. rabbits and pigs.

We  also employ urban farming techniques shown below in our vegetable production.

Urban farming helps to produce a lot of yields on a small space.
